Preparing for PuppyWhen bringing a new puppy home it is very exciting! We tend to think about the joy of the cute puppy but not always the reality which is that a puppy is very much like bringing home a toddler! They like to explore, they don't understand potty- training, everything goes in their mouth including fingers and furniture. While this is a joyful time it can also be a time of frustration. So I have compiled a list of things that I felt helped me tremendously when I keep or bring home a new puppy and suggestions from clients! It will be a forever changing list I am sure! First thing is find a trainer to work with! They are absolutely worth the cost to help you create the best 4 legged family member you can have and it will help you with the many bumps in the road that are to come! Then you can proceed to this list of items. These are the items I think are very much needed and / or helpful! As time goes on you may find other things, please let me know so I can continually update this page as needed! For your convenience I have included a link to Amazon for you for many of these products. I have decided to become an An Amazon Associate and earn a small amount from qualifying purchases because I use and recommend these products routinely anyway. #Ad For Puppy 1. It helps if I choose to move it to another area. I also started using a cover to help my dogs know when it's quiet time and it has worked much better than blankets etc. I do not use a bed or pad to begin with due to the puppies nature of chewing as well as the needing different sizes quickly. However a blanket can be a nice touch and easy to wash. The following are links to what I use. #Ad 42" crate : https://amzn.to/3HzFC4S Cover: https://amzn.to/3HzmvIb Blanket: https://amzn.to/48W2FBl 4.
